With changes going on in the world at the moment, most of us are putting in more time at home. It can feel difficult to keep up with a positive lifestyle when your gym in Shoreview is closed.

You might have become the teacher, chef, and parent in your house. Perhaps you are working from home for a time and hoping to set up some normalcy in the day.

Throughout these changing times, it can be easy to waste time on the couch, staring at the news and Netflix, and likely giving up on a day-to-day workout routine. We may be stuck at home, but we can for sure create ways to continue a healthy lifestyle! Below, find our preferred productive activities you can add into your current daily routine to be active, boost your immune system, and maintain momentum toward attaining your wellness targets.

Try Home Workouts

One benefit of spending extra time at home is the flexibility in your everyday routine. Examine your day. Where can you create ten minutes for a quick workout? A successful sweat session doesn’t need to take a long time to be helpful. As long as your heart rate goes up, you will get fat and calorie-burning benefits! Include Your Kids in Your Workout

The pools may be closed, but there are still many ways to incorporate fun activities your little ones will enjoy. Because staying active isn’t just for adults! Here are a selection of our favorite fun (and free!) ways the whole family can spend time together:

  • Walk the dog
  • Bring a frisbee out in the sun (hello Vitamin D!)
  • Break for a bike ride or roller skate trip
  • Create a floral arrangement with your outdoor blooms
  • Play ball in the backyard
  • Grab your sidewalk chalk and create a driveway mural
  • Have a dinner cooking competition
  • Turn on the family playlist and have a dance party

Are you trying your best to stay away from the grocery store? That works! This is the time to make new things in the kitchen and employ your favorite canned goods and frozen foods. With the kids away from school, long days working from home, and daily household chores, keep your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners straightforward during summertime.
